The MTR390 comprises 3 modules for easy maintainability. It is controlled by an ECMU (Engine Control and Monitoring Unit). Maintenance is "on-condition". The MTR390-E version will have a power increased by 14% compared to the existing basic version.
This power growth is needed for missions in "hot and high" environmental conditions in which the new HAD helicopter will be operated.
The MTR390-E version will power the new Tiger HAD helicopter, ordered by Spain (24 Tigre HAD), by France (40 Tigre HAD) and by Germany. Combat helicopter, the Tiger is a twin-engine 5 to 7-ton-class helicopter and carries 2 persons (the pilot and the gunner).
