The TM 333 2M2 is rated at 825 kW (1,100 shp) takeoff power. Its power output shaft has a nominal rotation speed of 6,000 rpm. The TM 333 2M2 is a power-turbine with a shaft passing through to the engine front turboshaft engine. It features a modular design: a reduction gearbox module and a gas generator module.
The TM 333’s different operational phases (starting, transient and steady state) are controlled by an Electronic Engine Control Unit (EECU) which provides valuable aid in piloting the helicopter and maintaining the engine.
With its simple modular architecture, the TM 333 2B2 combines reliability, easy maintainability (TBO of 2,000 hours) and low consumption.
Certified in August 2007, the TM 333 2M2 meets the power requirements of single-engine helicopters. The TM 333 2M2 powers the Chetan, the upgraded version of the Chetak (Alouette III).
The TM 333 2M2 powers also the Cheetal, the upgraded version of the Cheetah (Lama).
