Strong turn-out in Japan
The MORE Initiative was unveiled in May to our Japanese operators at our fourth annual customer symposium there. More than 60 operator companies and 116 attendees participated in the event. Turbomeca presented technical briefs on Arriel, Arrius and Makila engines, as well as briefings with local distributor Kawasho on logistics and commercial issues.

Field Representative of the month
“ We need to train our customers to work on our engines. It’s the best way to reduce operating costs,” says Leo Morrissette, our Field Representative for the U.S. Northwest, Alaska and Hawaii. Leo joined Turbomeca after 13 years with Alaska’s Era Helicopters. He also participated in Turbomeca’s North American Customer Council for two and a half years.

A year and a half ago, we had 18 field representatives. Today we have 31, with eight more to be hired this year.

More Support in Spain
Hispacopter, located in Albacete, Spain has signed a support agreement to become a TurboSupport Center for the Arrius and Arriel engines. The new agreement locates parts, rental units and technicians closer to the operators of 190 Arriel and Arrius engines in Spain.

Over the last 18 months, the number of TurboSupport Centers has risen from 14 to 19, with six more planned for 2003.
