New Paris Logistics Hub

A new Turbomeca distribution facility, now open at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport in France, is part of a major initiative to accelerate the delivery of spares. Our new distribution facility’s objective is to deliver AOG shipments from Paris to the international airport located nearest to the operator within 24 hours. Furthermore, its objective for non-AOG orders is to deliver them within seven days. Turbomeca is now studying the possibility of establishing one or two additional hubs in other regions for the best worldwide coverage.

Next Customer Symposium Features Texas Hospitality

Our next customer symposium will take place in Arlington, Texas, U.S.A. (October 2–3). This event presents a unique opportunity to spend time face-to-face with the employees who support and service engines in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. All our regional field representatives from these areas as well as representatives from Turbomeca U.S.A., Turbomeca Canada and Turbomeca Headquarters will be in attendance for all working sessions and social events. As an expression of appreciation to our customers, a traditional Texas style dinner will be hosted at Turbomeca U.S.A’s facility in nearby Grand Prairie.

Turbomeca Ready to Meet at Major Trade Shows

We do more at trade shows than just promote new products. We took a nine-person team to the recent Airborne Law Enforcement Association meeting in Wichita, Kansas (U.S.A.) during which we presented improvements to Arriel and Arrius engines. Turbomeca representatives were available to confer one-on-one with our operators. Look for us next at HELITECH in the U.K. (September 23-25) at booth number 1200 and at the LIMA show in Malaysia (September 30 – October 5).

Field Representative of the Month

Alan Whitten, our Field Representative of the Month, is based in the former Portuguese colony of Macau and supports our operators in the People’s Republic of China, Taiwan and South Korea. Alan has had a distinguished career supporting Harrier’s in the Royal Air Force and offshore helicopters around the world for Bristow Helicopters. He has also supported Turbomeca operators in Sydney, Australia prior to relocating in Macau.

Presently, Alan fulfills his mission by supporting one of the world’s most intensively flown fleet of S76C+ helicopters. He insures that they keep flying in some of the harshest climate and air quality conditions in the area.

Your Input Please

Two years ago, Turbomeca hired INIT, an independent research firm, to survey operators on the quality of support issues. We have used that feedback, as well as information from our Customer Council and the survey conducted by Pro Pilot magazine, in order to upgrade our service. In September of 2003, INIT will conduct a second survey to track our progress. We hope that all operators will participate in providing feedback. To complete the survey by email, please send your email address to more@turbomeca.com

To receive this update by E-mail, simply send us an E-mail at more@turbomeca.com with 'More Update' in the subject line.
