New Service in Scandinavia

Our latest TurboSupport Center, Patria Ostermans Aero AB, is located on the Stockholm-Arlanda International Airport. The TurboSupport Center will support Arrius 2 operators in Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greenland, Latvia, Lithunia, Norway, Russia and Sweden. Local customers will include the Swedish Military Forces, who will soon be operating twenty A109 Agusta helicopters equipped with Arrius 2K2 engines.2.

New Biennial Symposium in Europe

Operators of Arriel, Arrius and Makila engines are accustomed to model-specific symposia once every three years in Biarritz, France. Beginning in early 2004, Turbomeca will conduct a combined symposium in Europe every other year for all three engine models. The symposium will be open to all Turbomeca customers around the world. The exact location of the 2004 symposium will be determined in the near future. The change will allow the company to report to operators on a more frequent basis and provide more opportunity for dialogue with customers.

Exchange to Share

Service Engineers at our three TurboLink regional hubs (United States, France and Australia) will be trading places for two months in order to share know-how and working methods. These exchanges will take place every two years beginning this month. This type of exchange will promote the transferability of expertise. At the same time, it will allow for our Service Engineers to become more familiar with cultural differences and local business practices.

Field Representative Now Based in Italy

With a growing fleet of more than 300 engines in Italy, Turbomeca has decided to base a Field Representative in Trento, Italy. Field Representative Pierre Cohere, formerly a member of the Arrius Service Engineering Team, is well versed in all Turbomeca powerplants. Since joining the company in 2001, after working for Bristow, Pierre Cohere has been dedicated to supporting customers in various locations such as Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Scotland, Germany and French Guyana.

Milestones

The Makila engine, which entered service in 1980, has surpassed five million hours of flying time.

Arrius engines in service with the U.K. and the Irish Republic police forces have reached 100,000 hours flight time. Both organizations will soon upgrade their EC135s with Arrius 2B2s.

The Hellenic Armed Forces in Greece has selected the Rolls-Royce Turbomeca RTM 322 to power its new fleet of NH90 helicopters.
