T.O.O.L.S. Makeover
The T.O.O.L.S. website now incorporates a number of new user-friendly features. Operators can access information specific to the types of engines they operate more quickly. A new section enables operators to review upcoming seminars and other events. New interactive features allow operators to update their contact information, select a personalized password and send suggestions to Turbomeca.
ERP Implementation
On September 1st, 2003, Turbomeca transitioned to a new ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) system and encountered some technical difficulties that delayed the shipments of parts. Ultimately, the new ERP system will help the company better plan and coordinate spare parts support. In the short term, we are implementing an aggressive action plan to fix technical inconveniences and respond to customers’ urgent needs for parts. We are reducing response time in filling customers orders from our Paris logistics hub. The quantity of line items shipped from October 1, 2003 is higher by 50 % compared to our routine operations. By December 31, we expect to reduce work in progress (open parts orders) from 4 weeks to just one week.
AOG Parts Availability Trends Upward
On-time shipments of AOG parts (within 24 hours Ex Works) have consistently increased. Through October of 2003, the on-time shipments averaged 96%, versus 92% at the end of 2002.
