It also includes copies of Turbomeca do Brasil operating certificates and a listing of South American Turbomeca operators by country. Visit the site at www.turbomeca.com.br

Field Representative of the Month

The UK is home to 150 Turbomeca operators, many of them EMS and police operators requiring round-the-clock support from regional Field Representative Chris Chabrol. “Some of our operators are flying more than 150 hours a month, making rapid response imperative,” he notes. For the past year he has been serving this fleet from a base at McAlpine Helicopters in Oxford and previously supported operators in Spain and Scotland. A native of Limoges, France, Chris is an avid glider pilot. “Aeronautics is not only my job,” he says, “It’s my passion.”

Worldwide seminar for Field Representatives and Field Technicians

Our field staff is a far flung fraternity based on every continent. In January, more than 50 Field Representatives and Field Technicians assembled in Tarnos, France for an unprecedented 10-day seminar and training program. For many it was a first opportunity to meet home office personnel with whom they had only dealt by telephone and e-mail. Equally important, were the opportunities to get to know counterparts and better understand the global Turbomeca organization they represent.

The first of eight Arrius 2B2-equipped EC135s has entered service with the Czech police. The helicopter will be used for EMS missions, while others will serve in EMS, surveillance, anti-terrorist and multi-mission roles.

Turbomeca has signed an agreement authorizing Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co., Ltd (IHI) in Japan to repair and overhaul the Arriel 2 engines. IHI will support Arriel 2 engines in both government and civilian use.
