image
The RTM 322 turboshaft engine was initially designed to develop 1,566 kW (2,100 shp) with growth potential to 2,240 kW (3,000 Shp) in order to meet future helicopter needs. The RTM 322 engine control system is managed by a dual-channel Electronic Engine Control Unit (EECU).

The system provides automatic starting, rotor-speed governing, twin-engine torque matching, temperature and speed limitation throughout the engine operating envelope.

Following the RTM 322's selection by AgustaWestland for its AW 101s, the RTM 322 was also selected to power UK MoD's WAH-64 Apache combat helicopter. The RTM 322 offers unrivalled care-free handling and reduced pilot workload leading to enhanced flight safety and mission success.
